The storey is developing and it is obvious that the author has gotten comfortable with the characters by the way the story is flowing now.

Moving onto the next one.

This series is just getting better and better. There are so many different players yet she has written it in such a way it never seems over whelming. The authority seem to meet their hardest match yet and it takes all those still loyal to fight against the veiled. Allie gets slightly less physically battered this book but I think seems to get more of an emotional battering. I seriously can't wait to get stuck into the next one.

The appeal of the series is starting to wear a bit thin for me, but I want to know how it all works out!

I liked it, but I felt that even though a lot happened in the book, not a lot actually did happen. I know that doesn't make sense but it does in my head!
I think part of why I enjoyed it so much was because Zay was in a coma for almost all of it. That boy needs some backstory asap!

Another great installment in the series. It's passionate, sad, and action packed. Can't wait until the next novel.

Allie to the rescue. She is at the gate to Hades at the beginning of the book. She has to trust the untrustworthy to get her through to save Zayvion, her Soul Complement, from the Underworld. Her sacrifices anger some and sadden others.
The book moves just as quickly the rest of the series has. I do not know how Allie does it, but she does. The action starts at the get-go and doesn't let up. I am not sure what happened to Zayvion to put him in the coma and have his soul in Hades. This is book 5 and I've listened to book 4 and I think Zay was fine when it ended. Unless there was a missing disk. Or I missed a novella or short story somewhere along the line.
Not a worry. It did not diminish the wow factor and I caught up quickly with the adventure and thrills.
Definite recommend.

A rather lacklustre entry to the series. I had high hopes that the new setting, the trip into Death, would revive my waning interest in this series. Nothing like a change of scenery to perk you up, right?

Wrong!

Well, in Monk's hands it's wrong, anyway. The descriptions of the World of the Dead were so unimaginative it was almost laughable. Crumbling buildings was about the extent of it. Wow. So very vivid, it's like I can taste it.....only not.

The great rescue attempt of her lover, Zayvion was completed fairly early on so I was thinking we'd at least wrap that up and move on to a new mystery plot, but then he was in a coma for much of the book and without him, Allie really doesn't know her arse from her elbow, so she was pretty much just kicking around with Shame for the rest of the book.

In terms of plot- what little there was of it- there are previously dead folks walking around looking suspiciously more corporeal than they should. So it looks like the missing magic discs from the end of the last book have wandered into enemy hands. From here the plot was driven slowly and clumpily to the big end scene that wasn't. It had all the impact of a wet party popper.

This is where I get off the Allie Beckstom bus. I tried. I made it though five books but the character growth I needed to see hasn't happened and for once this one didn't end on a cliffhanger. So I'm outie. See ya. Bye, bye. Adios. Don't call me, I'll call you.

Not a good book but at least Zayvion was in a coma for most of this one.

Another Endeavour Book, this one is book#5. Magic in Portland. Actually a fairly involved magic system. Not quite as good as book#4 - but enjoyable. A bit bubblegum but definitely hints at the possibility of more. Interesting characters not very fancy writing just a fairly quick read. 4 of 5.
