Remy is a red which who is recruited by the Eastern court’s prince to find weapons that will help defeat the Northern king. She joins the Prince’s group of warriors on their journey to find the weapons. And find her way back to the red witches she though we’re all gone...
It wasn't until she crosses paths with Hale, the crown prince of the East Court that she is entangled in a web of political schemes and secrets that could pull her back to the day her coven were slaughtered and face the truth.
Overall, I really enjoyed The High Mountain Court. It did at times feels like a dupe of a couple of other series and sometimes certain scenes (the gambling scene!) felt way too much like ACOMAF but generally speaking I was invested. To be honest I wished things didn't happen so fast and "insta love" for Remy and Hale especially as it started as "enemies to lovers". While I already ordered books 2 and 3 and know there's a lot coming, book 1 was neatly wrapped up with a "happy" or rather hopeful ending which I actually found disappointing (hahaha). This book could have been 5 stars with another 200 pages of character development/journey time.
I would like to see more of Remy and Hale's personalities and their crew/found family to interact more in the next few books.

A bit predictable. I saw where it was going from pretty early on. But still very entertaining.

The vibes were acceptable but probably not re-readable.
All I have to say is that this is okay. I didn't really think there was anything unique, but it kept my attention. The plot twist was expected, and it's annoying when the hot guy is "the most beautiful man i've ever seen" like gag. That doesn't sound good lol but I remained interested and read the whole thing in one sitting! So it's good for mindless reading, because you'll predict everything. The characters were pretty enjoyable overall too!

The recipe: write a semi-decent story synopsis, take elements from the most famous fantasy books of current times
Shake it shake it shake it off.
That was this book. Zero points for originality.
A series of underwhelming scenes.
And, I want to write a list of copied-from-other-book scenes which were the most obvious ones, like I didn't even have to try to concentrate to remember where I have read them.

Man, there is something I REALLY LIKE about this series. I like the characters, the stories and how they are intertwining and developing. I say read these books! Can't wait for the next one!
Such a good read! Fast paced action, no boring characters, and, the main character FOR ONCE isn’t annoying!
Absolutely loved not being swamped with information regarding the world - everything was introduced steadily, at a good pace.
Oh and the spice!
