This was a nice (predictable) read. I didn’t like how the plot always seemed to fade to black. I missed out on a lot of the character (relationship) development. It made it kind of hard to buy into their bonds. But I guess that’s what you get for reading a short romance with a lot of plot?

Unexpected gem!

The balance in this debut by A. K. Mulford left me enthralled at every turn. I'm not even sure how this series ended up in my lap but I am thankful for the journey that has just begun.

Keeping this author on my radar, and hoping for much more to come.

I don’t know why I allowed this book to sit on my shelf for so long. From the start, the tension and banter were just what I was looking for in my next read!

The high mountain court has all the things you love: Fae, Witches, Banter, Adventure, Snarky FMC, Snarky MMC, Magic, epic quest.

Combined with all the topes: Hidden identity, fake relationship, only one horse, only one bed, found family, enemies to lovers, Fated mates.

This story focuses on Remy, a red witch in hiding after her court. The High Mountain court is destroyed, and the red witches hunted for their magic in the world of Okrith. Hale the bastard prince of the East court on a mission to find the High Mountain court relics for political gain.

Remy grows so much in this book that you see her struggling to stay hidden and want to help her people. Eventually, Remy grows into herself and her power and is able to do the things she has struggled to come to terms with.

While this book wrapped up a large portion of the plot, I can see how there are more books, there Is more get through and new questions that came up. Also, these side characters you know I need to know more about!
