I'm a complete simp for Cat Sebastian and I genuinely think this is a perfect book.

Where to even begin! I love a prickly heroine, someone who is capital-D Difficult, and Marian sets the standard. I love how Rob would do anything for her, how he let's her take the lead in every aspect of their relationship, proving to her that she can trust him by always giving her exactly what she wants and nothing she doesn't. I love the reversal of the traditional grumpy/sunshine trope.

I really appreciate how this book presents its own moral compass and how all these characters find comfort in navigating the world using it. Sebastian has an excellent solution for the difficult problem of the dukedom, which is basically that it shouldn't exist so they'll figure out a way to make sure it doesn't. This book beautifully displays how the title isn't always the salvation or the boon that its presented as in most historical romances; it is, in fact, a burden and an unethical amount of power to bestow on one person to abuse as they see fit.

Also, the sex in this book is so hot!!! Love to see alternatives to traditional penetratice sex presented as 1) still sex , and 2) very sexy! This book is amazing!!
