The illustrations are amazing - drawings and paper props in photographs. The story is also sweet. Elise is alone and scared. Young Emil enters her home and everything changes. Her black and white world slowly turns to color.

I love the combination of two- and three-dimensional art in the illustrations.

I really enjoyed the art in this story and they way the story unfolded. It hit a little close to home as I'm sure I'll likely end up just like the old woman in the tale. Alone and agoraphobic.

The tale starts with black and white and shades of grey. The visitor trails color and life through the woman's house and in the end reminds her of who she used to be.

May we all be so lucky to never forget in the first place...
