This felt a bit anti climatic for me.

It's is very naturalistic and hits some hard themes, which was executed perfectly. I just think that isn't my cup of tea. I still enjoyed the world building, in fact it was my favourite part of the book. I just couldn't connect with the characters.

I will be watching the TV series to see if I like that more and might pick up the next book after that.

reread from high school bc I love the show so much, and I think definitely reading it now as an adult and given our current ~climate~ I appreciated it so much more!
