Reviews for this are somehow full of annoyed people who apparently didn’t get the memo on this genre or read the warnings? I liked this book a lot, particularly the writing style. It started off a little slow, only a little, but really started to grip me and I couldn’t put it down.

There was SO much trauma in this book. Ohmygod. I really didn’t know if it would get better.

I pretty much finished this book in 24h, while getting my school work done! This book is very dark, he stalks her and then there is definitely some non consensual content. I might be a bit fucked in the head bc I really liked it. I need to read the sequel bc the plot was good and I need to know the end of this cliffhanger. If you have never read a dark romance before I don’t think this should be your introduction, the things Zade does can go too far so definitely read the warnings (or the spice menu) before diving in. I would 100% recommend reading butcher and blackbird or Lights Out before if you haven’t read any darker romances. It was pretty spicy, and lots of murder, but good murder? Honestly this book has me wanting to read much more dark romance, because some contemporary romances aren’t cutting it anymore, if he wouldn’t kill for me, like, is he even worth it?!
