The novel-length version of that joke in Natural Born Killers. "Look bitch, you knew I was a snake."
Absolutely mind the trigger warnings on this one, very explicit content ahead. But the writing is wonderful, and the story is so, so good.

Lori takes her handicap sister to the woods to find the river man. She’s on a quest to prove love and devotion to her serial killer boyfriend/pen pal who currently resides in prison. He has asked her to locate a key in his shed and to give it to the river man.

This is graphic and pretty disturbing. I’m not a splatterpunk genre fan, yet here I am reading another one. When my father passed away last august, one of the items I received was his kindle. I want to eventually read the books he’s read and this was one of them. He enjoyed many genres, horror being one.

I was interested in the storyline, but it became pretty predictable. It was a solid 3.5/4 stars until the ending, which was very anti-climatic for me. If you’re a horror fan, give this one a go. It’s a quick and twisted read.

Enjoyed the pacing of this. The MC’s relationship with the serial killer is the least concerning element. Intense story from start to finish.

Cersei Lannister?? Wtf are you doing here

minus the beginning being a little slow. The only thing I can really comment on is that I felt Lori was not as totally crazy and obsessed with Edmund as she should've been for her not only go to see the riverman, but for the ending (which I did like). Like she talks a couple times about how well she likes him, but not in a crazy sexual way. But I felt like if she would have liked him in a crazy sexual way It would've made the ending even more satisfying than it already was, and explain the actions a little more. Because by having her have a little, I guess you would call it common sense About Edmund and what she's doing for him kind of pulls her, and the reader out of the crazy cult following daydream

what the fuck did i just read

goodreads please let me give this zero stars
