This book tells the story of Lola Barnes, best friend of the main character in the first book of the series..
Lola got mixed up with a bad motorcycle pack at the beginning of Baby's book, and we don't find out the full extent of it until this book.
At the beginning, she meets a hot beta at a betas-only club, and runs away from him when she sees he's bonded. She also gets a new job at Designate, where she meets the beta again, this time with some of the alphas from his pack. As a result of the run-in, the beta, Leo, takes her away from his alphas and takes care of her. Though they start a relationship, he is a part of a pack, and their relationship will eventually have to acknowledge the other members of the pack as well.
Lola has to learn how to trust again, especially since this pack with its alphas has their arms wide open to her. They are interested in her as a person, and possibly more.
She also has to deal with the fact that one of Hangmen, Indy, is stuck up on her for some reason and stalking her.
I appreciate that this book talks about the effects of sexual assault and how devastating it is. I liked to see Lola working through it with some positive, non-toxic relationships. I liked the love interests in the book, and how gentle and respectful they were with her.
I think that the author could have just put parts one and two together into one book, but it doesn't matter that much, I suppose.
Looking forward to the next one.

I loved that Lola is a beta and comes with the baggage of being an alpha-chaser and realizing she'll never be an omega. The pack of 6 males she ends up with is caring, considerate, and patient with her. While there are dark elements to this book, Lola's relationship with this new pack is built on trust and respect. It's a very modern and positive polyamorous situationship.
What didn't work for me was the lack of development for all the characters, especially those in the pack. I found myself forgetting all the time there's supposed to be more than four in that group. Hoepfully we learn more about them in part two.

I was won over almost immediately by Leo, I loved the pizza sex scene and how kind and caring he was. Rakim won me over seriously quickly, too! Omega schemes, so blatant in his flirtation and his sexuality, but oh my god what a heartthrob. His heat and the orgy scene was so, so, so sexy, and so well written! I love smut but wow. WOW. Fantastic
I just wanted Lola to let her guard down and fall all the way in love. She came so far in this book. It’s an intense omegaverse romance with no shortage of sexy hunky men trying to work their way into her heart…. But they really seem to care about her and her comfort! And normally, I’d read a book like this, and pick out my favorite boyfriend but I’m really team pack on this one.
Also, FUCK YOU Indy. You disgust me. Get out of her life, you loser.
