Loved it, but it was so short! I am often frightened by the way people treat one another and especially treat strangers. One of my favourite takeaways and something I feel strongly about is that it is hard to hate someone up close. We write people off too easily these days and are rarely up for tough conversations even though they provide the deepest connection and mutual understanding. It’s definitely worth a read and is very easy and quick to get through.

Typical Brene Brown she stitches together disparet opinions in a beautiful weaving of inspiring quotes, touching personal experiences and candid honesty

I’m not sure how to give this a rating? I very much enjoyed it and do think I can away from it with good reminders of how to keep confidence with myself, my beliefs and my choices. But, I do think it deserves a re-read too! If you’re on the fence I would definitely recommend giving it a try!

DNF at page 95. The basic premise is having the courage to stand alone while maintaining respect of others and self dignity. But Brown’s execution is all over the place. Too many trite examples from her own life and underdeveloped context.
