I’ve never read a book which fell so quickly from 5 stars to 1 star by the end of it. The premise of the story was fantastic but the execution was the WORST I have ever read. They had my favourite tropes; second-chance, high-school sweethearts, will-they-won’t-they, even a love triangle but they completely ruined it with the excessive amount of graphic spicy scenes. It was honestly getting ridiculous how many pages I had to skip and how uncomfortable I felt accidentally reading some of it. Also, they took Gods-name in vain FAR TOO MANY TIMES it made me sick. Honestly barely got through skim reading it and being like THANK YOU JESUS this book is done. Won’t ever read anything from this author ever ever ever again

Macy and Elliot
14 years ago, they met when Macy’s father bought a cabin shortly after the death of Macy’s mother.
11 years ago, they had a falling out after a few months of secretly dating long distance
In the present, Macy is a resident doctor and Elliot is a book writer
Her father died, she caught Elliot in bed with a girl she was jealous of.
Review:
- This book was based on miscommunication
- Macy and Elliot went through so much and she deserved more
- IT WOULD BE 5 STARS IF IT WAS DOUBLE POV

4.5⭐️ I’ve only read a few books by these authors, but I appreciate how uncomplicated and straightforward their stories are so you can focus on the relationships between the characters and not get bogged down in a literary think piece.
After Macy’s mother passes, her dad saves to buy them a getaway cabin for when they need a break from reality. When they arrive to their escape, Macy discovers a friend in the next door neighbor Elliot, a boy her age who reads a book a day and who isn’t scared to broach difficult talking points. Despite this sacred friendship, it dissolves when they’re high school seniors and they lose contact for 11 years until they run into each other in a coffee shop.
This storytelling is one that alternates between the foundation of their relationship and their current day reunion. Watching these characters simultaneously unravel and weave back together is an experience that’s difficult to break from.
