This is the first time I read a fantasy, though it's for children but I love it! I feel like there is Magic in the book and in me and I can say that "I'm! in the world the author created!". I love his writing style, it is probably the best fiction book I have ever read and it made me believe in Magic in real life again!
Another reason why I love the novel so much is that I found myself in Colin (don't worry I won't spoil) He actually made me believe in life and beauty again (Because I got depression).
It worths your reading and take time to read the book (and believe me you won't upset about it)

this book is a sweet, safe read. like someone putting a blanket over you and then being handed a cup of warm tea. it took me a while to finish the book but it was worth the savor, especially over the particular season when real nature was falling into wintertime and the sun set sooner every day.
I think reading it quicker would have made it lose some of its charm: the carefully protected pov of childhood innocence, nostalgic belonging, adoration of skies, blooms, and creatures.

This book was so much better when I read it as a kid 😭 I found the characters more annoying and the writing is definitely outdated now that I’m reading it in 2025. However, it was still an inspiring coming of age story and obviously a classic for a reason.
