I loves me some Nick Hornby! He is like the kind of person I would invite over for drinks and eats on a Friday night where my peeps and I would be listening to music and waxing sardonic about the "people" we have to deal with on a daily basis...and he would fit right in! This is the first non-fiction I've read by him, and it is a collection of columns he wrote for The Believer in which he talks about what he's been reading lately. It's straight-forward, witty, and it gave me a number of books to add to my "to read" list.

As usual, Hornby entertains and gives good book suggestions.

See my review for Polysyllabic Spree, ad my appreciation for a sane and wonderful prologue.

This is a collection of essays that Hornby wrote about the books he read throughout the year. Each month he makes a list of the books he buys and the books he reads. And every month he had listed a book that I have read or have on my shelf to read. I guess then its no surprise I enjoyed reading his thoughts.

I’m a sucker for books about people reading books.

I love these essays by Nick Hornby -- he talks about what books he's bought and what he's read over the past month, plus other observations and insights. They're interesting and funny, and have given me a bunch of new book ideas to add to my list!

Loved this and will definitely pick up The Polysyllabic Spree next. This was hilarious and inspiring and it added at least a dozen new books and/or authors to my reading list.
