Pretty solid, aside from one anti-trans joke that's also illogical and doesn't land anyway.

Four stars because it made me laugh a lot. His topic isn't funny, but the way he pierces it is. I actually learned some bits of history, though that is not the main thrust of the book. He is hilarious!

What is amazing is the amount of research that goes into his books. I both love and hated that I learn stuff I didn't know about racism whenever I read his books. I thought I knew a lot but I am always introduced to a lot of stuff I hadn't known. Plus the books are hilarious. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to know more about what racism is like in reality.

Quite a read alongside Caste and The New Jim Crow. Not Hughley's funniest work, occasionally goes where he shouldn't (ethnic slurs for Asians,  Latinx, etc.), but still makes some good points.
