This was too long and focused on plants too much when there’s a war happening and time travel. On top of that, Claire had odd reactions that didn’t feel natural, like laughing hysterically after getting raped or almost raped. She didn’t seem emotionally connected to anything happening in the book and Jamie seemed less in love with her than in the show. But the rape scenes were much less graphic than the show, thankfully.

I just read this for the second time and moving right onto the next volume also for the second time. it is a rollicking, no holds barred adventure. And the series gets better with each book.
