What a fantastic ride! If you like sarcasm and snark reminsicent of Harry Dresden, good doses of magic, treachery and myth, this is the book for you. I loved the treatments of different legends and myths within each of the stories. Having grown up reading fantasy and playing RPGs, this was a lovely nostalgic stroll through a campaign come to life.

The main character, though you never learn his name, is a fantastic character in all the best traditions of the 'noble rogue.' He meets his match many times, but always manages to at least call a truce. More often, he wins them to his side, with a few exceptions. Despite having a strong male lead, there are a great number of strong female leads. My favorite characters were Leondris and Cat, and my favorite story was Skin of the Cat.

Though the stories seemed like separate tales, they all tie together in the end in a massive blowout boss fight.

Well done!
