I have waited for this 3rd book since randomly stumbling on the series last year. If you like women that don´t miss words, don´t need to be saved, and are total badasses-- read this series. It is very well written, and I am not reminded that the is audience is probably 17 year old girls the whole time. Her writer´s voice is brilliant, strong, and over all impressive. I also spent the entire series just really hoping Hollywood would discover it, so that I can see it play out on screen. Ugh. It is just so good. I was pretty crushed when it ended.. now I just need to wait for the next one.

I think this book may be my favourite in The Bone Season series so far. I just can’t get enough of these characters and the world. It continues to emotionally destroy me but I just cannot stop reading.

I loved how the characters expanded in this one, and we got to see even more of the London Underworld. I really enjoyed the new characters that were brought in, even though they were only in the story for a short time - I can’t wait to see how they develop in future installments.

I also really loved how the setting expanded to places outside of London - to Manchester and Edinburgh, and I really liked seeing how Scion had a hold of the rest of the country like it does London.

I feel like this book ended beautifully too. Like, it could have been decent closure if there was no more books to come, but it also sets up future installments really, really well and has kept me intrigued to see what’s coming.

I wasn't quite as connected to this instalment as I was with the previous two but I did really enjoy the direction this has taken after the Scrimmage.

I also like how we see how Paige isn't the shiny infallible chosen one, yes she's in a position of power but she's still young, impulsive and isn't immortal so does actually have to work for their goals.
