My heart hurts. In the best possible way. Didn't think I would re-read this one because it's so emotionally heavy but.. I'm glad I did. I'm ready for The Dark Mirror now, 3,5 weeks of yearning left! Will Arcturus Mesarthim ever leave my head during this time? Probably not

This was the most lacking book in the series so far. I don’t know why exactly, maybe because it’s so much shorter than the others, most likely because it felt a lot like a bridge between part 1 and part 2 of the general story.
It wasn’t bad at all, I just didn’t like it as much as I liked the first two books.

Now I think I’ll sqeeze at least a couple of books in between before diving straight into the last book available from TBS universe. And then onto a loooong wait until January 2025.

Probably my favorite out of this series so far. It's seemed to move at a quicker pace and kept me on the edge of my seat more than the previous books. Ready to see what the next book brings!

It might be a weird thing to comment on but I really enjoyed the pacing of this book. While it wasn't moving at breakneck speed and everything felt very well timed with room to breathe, there wasn't a moment that felt like a true lull. This feels like the kind of book in a series that is setting up for something big down the road, and still I felt like the exciting events really had me gasping and hanging on every word.

And PHEW it is work mentioning that (spoilers ahead) this book has one of the best and most heartwrenching breakups I've read. It doesn't feel permanent - maybe because I am a small ball of spite and refuse to believe it - but it had so much emotional weight and had me choking up.

I can tell that this is a great segue into the next arc of the series, and I'm so excited to see what happens next. THERE BETTER BE SOME RECONCILIATION IS ALL IM SAYIN.

The third book in a series so no synopsis from me, I'm also not sure how to cover it. The Song Rising is quite a short book in the series and after the shocking ending of the previous book, this takes us out of Oxford and London onto a journey to a couple of difference places. Paige is trying to uncover the secrets of Scion and their latest scheme which threatens the clairvoyants even more.
Gripping and incredibly tense, particularly towards the end - I thought this was a great continuation. There was a lot to unpack and many characters which sometimes left me scratching my head.
A wild ending, I've now idea how this story is going to play out and I'm looking forward to continuing.
