I read this book because I have seen a lot of people comparing it to Kristin Hannah's Four Winds, so I wanted to see for myself.
There are a lot of reviews so I'll keep mine to a couple of points.
1 It's a phenomenal story, and a lesson to those who don't learn from history, because history is repeating itself now.
2 I loved both Grapes of Wrath and Four Winds; they both tell stories of migrant families during the Dirty Thirties, but with slightly different approaches. I would say that Steinbeck did a better job of explaining the social and political situations that led to the migration, but Hannah did a better of inspiring the reader/listener to sympathize with the characters.
