this book took me a while but i just read the majority of it. every time i read these novella books i remember just how much i love this world and these stories because in less than a hundred pages i can feel so much. i really liked every story in here. i want kit and ty to be friends again so i need the wicked powers. i love jem and tessa and their baby even tho i really hate the fill name but the nickname is cute. i loved all the stories but i felt a little bored by the last one but i think that was just cause i was tired and driving back from wyo. but overall i really liked these and i can’t wait for the next books and then finally the wicked powers cause i’m excited to reread everything for that.
audio: this is absolutely my favorite of all the novellas. i feel like it's the most interesting and i connect to the most stories in here. i think it's also the most cohesive with jem being followed throughout and then the lost herondale also bringing them all together. as i read: it sucks that even though matthew hates alastair he still listens to what he has to say about his parents. like even someone he thinks so lowly of he still listens to what he has to say. wait so matthew was ready to kill charlotte but he didn’t know she was pregnant and that’s when he felt bad like i’m confused why is either of the one okay. i’m excited to see how matthew deals with everything like his guilt in the next books of the last hours. i love matthew and james’s friendship. “someone could be not fully known yet still entirely loved.” ana and ariadne are so cute. ana and ariadne are so cute and sweet together and i want more of them in chain of iron. i forgot so much about them because i had forgotten everything before i had read chain of gold and i’m excited to reread chain of gold too. being lgbtq in this time period must have been so impossible and heartbreaking. cecily and gabriel accepting ana and just all the parents are my favorite. “ i am exactly as i chose to be” i love these books because jem and tessa love eachother as much as tessa and will and it’s so sweet. and her almost losing him makes me so sad. i feel bad for celine for the abuse and loving someone she can’t have but i also hate her for the way she talks about stephen and everything else. i love the story of the lost herondale and how that bloodline is kit and ahhhhhh. i actually love the idea of loving a herondale and how it has gone through so many books i think it’s so fun. i do feel rlly bad for celine when she heard stephen talking shit about her. i also rlly like how jem looking for the lost herondale is going throughout the whole book and connects everything. i actually love how she made the lost herondale kits mother instead of the father cause we all definitely thought the lost herondale would be a man.
“what was strength without the endurance of suffering” i love all of lily’s nicknames for brother zachariah. jem putting the initials WH on his staff where he holds it ahhhhh i’m crying. NOTHING makes me happier then alec and magnus as parents like with max ahhhh. i’m obsessed with magnus and alecs story because we get to see how they get raphael. this also definitely makes me appreciate jem and tessa’s relationship more than i did after just TID. i love how alec and raphael don’t get along at first. “ blood is not love but it offers a chance for love” i love how fiercely the herondales love and how you see it through each of the lost herondales we meet. kit and ty are my faves and i need them together and i need the wicked powers. i love livvy and it makes me so sad cause as a ghost she sees everything that she’s missing and everything she can’t have. kits first worry being ty makes me so happy. kit giving ty the heron necklace makes me so happy. i’m so pumped for everything to do with ash and the wicked powers and kit and ty. “where there is love there is no need for gratitude” the last words being wicked powers i love. “anyone who says women are weak are afraid they’re too strong “
i love this book so much and im very happy i reread it. the audiobook was great and it was just amazing.

This book was just a huge treat. I enjoyed every single story!!! I love Jem (aka Brother Snack-a-riah) so much and I’m so happy to have stories centered around him. I just love watching these characters I’ve followed for so many books learn and grow! I especially love reading about all the love and good things happening to them!! I don’t think I could ever hate a shadowhunter book. It’s such a treat to dive into this world every single time.
