The first Gabriel Allon book. Listened to the audio -- excellent reader.
A charismatic character -- I understand why people wanted more books about Allon.
An enjoyable listen; suspenseful, but not TOO much for me! And of course, I love that he is an art restorer.

This was a struggle from beginning to end. Too many characters who the author would refer to as their first name, or last name interchangeably, which didn’t help with my confusion.
The story itself was interesting. But I really didn’t engage with it.

I have found a new fun thriller series. I thought the characters were well developed. The plot twists were often surprising. It makes me want to read more about the history of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. And, it was thoroughly enjoyable. All good. Exactly what I needed to end the summer.

Excellent. I have read every Gabriel Allon (main character) book, and this ended up being the last one that I got. It provided some background about Gabriel that would have been helpful, but not essential) to have as I read the other books. Daniel Silva is a master at mystery and espionage.

FANTASTIC. Thrilling throughout and twisty as hell. Got my heart beating fast and didn’t see the ending coming. Can’t wait to read the next one!
3.5 stars. A solid debut. Maybe not as suspenseful as I'd like but still a strong compelling introduction of characters on both sides of the middle east conflict. I'm expecting lots of hours of enjoyment from this series and author. Thank you.
