I'm not a big spy novel fan but this book is good. I couldn't put it down and the end has a twist which I never anticipated.

2nd book I read but first in series. Loved it.

This series was recommended to me by my current Chief of Staff, described as a Mossad agent who is an art restorer - sign me up!

Overall, I did enjoy it - not quite as much as Philip Mercer (Jack DuBrul), Cotton Malone (Steve Berry), or even Dirk Pitt and Isaac Bell (Clive Cussler), but definitely in the spirit of the same.  As the first book in quite a lengthy series, this feels like a first in a series, so I will be curious to read more of Gabriel Allon's adventures in the future.

I've read several of the Gabriel Allon mysteries, but never the first. I was surprised to see that his wife's injury was a back story even in this first novel. Gabriel manages a complicated case involving the Palestinian prime minister and a terrorist with a death wish. Lots of intrigue and tension.
