Reviews with content warning for Murder - All the Rage

This book was immediately devastating and only got more heartbreaking. It’s hard to even decide whether I liked this book or not because it was very well written and well handled but also incredibly hard to read due to the subject matter. Several events in the book left me utterly shocked, such as the lipstick message, and others just sad, such as Romy’s reluctance to wear a push-up bra because she would not want to be wearing it if anything happened. The whole book is such a blunt depiction of real things that happen to real women and I think this book is very important. I do have a few criticisms, such as the timeline being hard to follow in the beginning. The story also does not necessarily follow what happens in the description but more of what happens because of those events. I wish Romy was a more fleshed-out character apart from the trauma she endured and I also wish that Kellan was more of a character in the book.
Either way, this book gave me a stomachache and was really hard-hitting in an important way. That being said, I hope I never reread this book. If you are planning on reading it, definitely look up content warnings.

What a hard book to read. It's another fantastic one by Courtney Summers, but it's hard. I didn't want to read it for the longest time because I really hate reading rape stories. But wow. I loved the build up and how it was all resolved. And how it highlighted the bigotry in small towns.
