Really enjoyable, Jo is a great narrator. The story never took off quite the way I hoped but the setting and cast of characters were enough to keep it interesting.

I actually read the French version, Big Easy, and it was amazing. I loved the atmosphere of the novel, the colourful characters and the way this story portrayed them in the brightest life. There were sad parts, uplifting parts, and ultimately I found this tale to be inspiring. loved it.

I loved this story. The narrator (audiobook) did a beautiful job capturing 1950's New Orleans. The characters were strong and dynamic, I especially loved Willie.

I really liked this in parts, but then it was kind of predictable, so I'm wavering between 3 and 4 stars. Apparently I'm not feeling generous today.
