I really enjoyed this, a perfect example of an author thoroughly researching the time period of their book without getting bogged down in the details. Nikias and Kallion are the sweetest babies, I hope they'll be back.

Overall a good book that handles a complicated topic, just some of the dialogue and sex scenes feel a bit stilted. I wish the ending had been more dynamic, it ended a little muted. I do wish however that Nikias’ relationship with his owner had been more touched on in its wrongness. Yes, he says he loved him, but what he went through was still an abuse of power and grooming.
