Huh? What was this book? I would have given zero stars, but I guess it deserves something for being one of the first science-fiction books ever.

Wow. I can see why this story has been recreated in so many forms. My first introduction was a movie of the same name very loosely based on this novella. Now that I've read it, I hope to find another movie version that more closely follows the original. The writing style is fun and beautiful, the story just as much so. I highly recommend this to anyone and everyone.

Definitely the older style of writing - Pages of exposition with very little action or dialog. This is also written in that sense of this is what has already happened, and I am telling you now, so you never fear for the author's life. I understand the appeal of this story, and of course time has made this a classic.

Pretty neat, some nice ideas in here. The attitude towards the Morlocks has some questionable (classist and possibly racist) undertones but par for the course with stuff from this age.
