The fmc was a little (a lotta) bit annoying but the mmc was amazing. (Why did the name the c*** an elephant trunk tho?)
One of Ruby’s best! If I do say so myself.
I adored Kim almost immediately, her naïveté and innocence mixed with the worries of being “too old” for a human mate made her into a lovable mess that I just wanted to be friends with. Nassakth was harder to love, but he redeemed himself in the middle of the book and from then on I was hooked. The two of them together is a perfect match. Kim has all the patience in the world for her man and is gentle while still being brave and fierce, she suits him perfectly. Nassakth also displays tons of patience and gentleness and quite a bit of empathy that I think he gained from his time as a slave, he’s a gentle giant with a stern and refined nature.
Lots of drama going on, lots of Bethiah as well, but it all felt well paced for this couple specifically. They needed things to work through I think. I appreciated learning about praxiians more in this one even if it doesn’t shine a good light on their society and customs. The epilogue was wholesome and adorable. ❤️❤️❤️
