I love the narrators for Ruby Dixon's books. Perfection. (Sidenote: I don't know I they can read those dirty scenes!)
I just wish it wasn't so expensive to buy the audiobooks! Stupid libraries around here won't give me my alien porn.

I love Ruby Dixon and the Risda series but I think I found my limit.
Reading about someone getting it on with a cat-man just runs shivers down my spine and not the good kind. Every time anything cat-like was mentioned I asked myself why???
It was just icky all around.
If you can look past that you'll still enjoy the book, it's classic RD.

5 stars. This was the sweetest story! I had a smile on my face (or just actually laughing) while reading this.
What I loved:
- The entire set up. Nassakth (a cat-like alien) trying to woo Kim by leaving her dead animals on her doorstep, which obviously freaks Kim (a human) out because that is what creepy stalkers do. Kim requesting a bounty hunter to kidnap her a husband... and Nassakth is the one delivered to her door. The whole beginning was just hilarious.
- Nassakth. For an ex-gladiator, he's just a big softie towards Kim. I love how careful and sweet and protective he was, always trying to make sure he was not pushing her beyond what she was comfortable with.
- Kim. It takes a while for her to get fully comfortable with Nassakth, but she is equally protective of him. Their love story was just so heartwarming to read.
- Side characters. Bethiah is crazy and hilarious.

Ruby Dixon just doesn’t seem to be my author. She is very sex-forward in her writing. While I appreciated much about this book—who doesn’t love a misunderstanding between main characters where the hero is courting the heroine in a very cat-like way (leaving dead animals on her porch, marking his territory) and the heroine thinks she is being warned of impending murder—there are constant references to sex acts and genitalia that hit you right up front (and ever after).
I like that the hero gives the heroine respect and, once he understands where she is coming from, stops pressuring her for sex. But i found the “I’m the one at fault for not being clear” thoughts of the heroine to be disturbing and sad. I want my heroines to be better than real life and know their own worth and that they can say no or “just this much”.
It’s not a bad book. It’s just not what I want to read. DNF at 37%.
