I have a love-hate relationship with this book... Tho I loved the 6-7 chapter and the ending

i really really loved the way this was written, the use of language is so smart and well thought out - the return to the same phrases again and again made it feel like an epic poem or a biblical text or something. really amazing. the only downside is the fact that it is SO long - feels a bit laboured at times

Despite its slowness, prose, confusing writing and spectacular imagery, I could not put it down for long. Every time I did, I had to come back to see where it was going.

The novel was literally crazy. I really liked how she structured it and apparently Roy studied architecture. At the end, she says that her degree helped her literally structure the book which I thought was cool. I kinda hated the part where the twins literally had sex because that’s so bleh. I was so surprised by Ammu and Velutha’s romance. I gasped when he died even thought I was expecting it. It was so brutal. Sophie’s death was also crazy since it was so brief but so much just collapsed because of it. Also, her imagery is CRAZY! I could literally picture every single scene in my head so well.
