This is the sort of book you read, dreading every page turn because you know something else is going to happen to these kids. At the same time you HAVE to keep turning pages because you have to know what happens next. (YA)

This book takes place immediately after the first one. The group has split into two, some went to find help as the type Os stayed at the Greenway.

This book is told through alternating point of views. Dean stayed behind at the Greenway with four others, while Alex went off with the others to seek help. I really liked this aspect. I felt like we got to see a bit more of the characters and watch them grow.

That being said this book was short. It was a lot shorter than the first book. The pacing of this book was incredibly fast. I believe the whole story takes place in three days. This did provide some confusion, I wish the author explained things further.

I am also a little confused with the target audience for this book. I believe it is a young adult book, but it reads like a middle grade one. . . just with swearing and random sex scene thrown in. This is just an odd series.

Overall, I give this book

"Monument 14" räägib järjekordsest maailmalõpust. Algab see ekstreemse ilmaga, kui ühel hommikul tabab linna rahevaling. Sel hetkel on koolide poole teel kaks koolibussi. Katsumusi tuleb supermarketis redutavatele noortele igasuguseid ette.
Teises osas liigutakse juba poest välja, otsima Denveri lennujaama, kus kuuldavasti toimub evakueerimine. Maailmakirjeldus on selles äärmiselt huvitav, näeme kuidas teised inimesed katastroofiga kohanenud on.

Honestly, I am living for this series.

It is truly hitting the spot of dystopian fiction that I NEEDED. The characters at this time became significantly more loveable. I love that the characters were
seperated
and that they seemed to grow so much over the course of this short book.

I have very little to say except I am really enjoying this and that I feel like it shows how awful humanity can be and how brilliant they can be. The kids were very much till written as kids and honestly it was brilliant to see them again be their awesome selves.

I loved the way that it ended and honestly I felt that if it stopped there I would have been content though I am very happy to read the final instalment of this series. One thing though that I was not exactly keen on was the way the split perspectives were written. I didn't think that the voices were particularly different and I think that annoyed me a lot.

Overall this is my guilty pleasure series and I love it.

Definitely better than the first!! I loved this! It had my heart racing the entire time. I was so scared for the kids. This novel kept me guessing and actually surprised me a lot. I'm so excited to finish the series...
