Gave 2.75 only for the excellent representation of mental illness because the book is very racist. Very disappointed in the racism displayed by the author.

It was quite an interesting read. The blurb of my copy didn't give anything away so the way the story progressed really did surprise me.
It was as if I was watching a friend spiral—unexpected and had me thinking back on warning signs.
I enjoyed listening to men I trust's discography while reading this. Insightful read. The racism was off putting when it showed up though :/

I definitely expected something darker and ended up being just slightly disappointed because of that. But then again I guess this book is dark for people who haven't struggled with mental illness and suicidal thoughts. For me it was just relatable
