[reread] These are just fun. I really enjoy the movie so I’m a little biased, but... yeah. I enjoy how clever yet silly it is. I plan on finishing all the volumes this month.
This is a reread, but I forgot to log it when I read it 2 years ago.
Anyways, nothing really stuck out to me in this first volume, a lot of the characters are pretty annoying (Except for Wallace and Ramona to a degree) and it wasn’t really all that interesting. I did really like the development of Scott and Ramona’s relationship and their dialogue though!!
I know the series gets better because I’ve already read the whole thing, but I never really cared to revisit this volume. It bothers me that people are hating on the art though. Like Fight me right now

The graphic novel is just as fun as the movie and it gave me more time to settle on each joke. I would keep reading the series! Kai and I ab to watch the new anime in like an hour so that says something at least
Scott Pilgrim is dating a high schooler.I think Scott Pilgrim vs. the World is amongst my most-rewatched movies ever yet I've never felt the urge to read the source material. This first volume alone made me appreciate the movie that much more, especially with how much attention was paid to the details, from set design to actual quotes from the book (that were punched up for the screen). Love O'Malley's art style, even more so in colour (just like in his other book Seconds). Obviously, the book has it's problems (manic-pixie dream girl stereotype, Scott is kinda a dick, etc. etc.) but I love it either way, and my crush on both Wallace and Stephen is even bigger in the graphic novel.

Great comic styling and characters that I recognize as my friends.
