i can't belive i read a children's book and liked it, but it's true! This is truly one of the best books i ever read, Little Fur is such a cute main character and I like the message that's in the story.

My first audiobook! Perhaps I am a little spoiled because it was read by Isobelle Carmody herself.

She does the voices so well, encapsulating each character. I can't imagine anyone else doing it. At times, you can't recognise it's Isobelle speaking! A fun experience.

It's heartbreakingly disappointing. The writing is robotic. Every single piece of information is just blatingly told to the reader. The characters don't seem to really have any personality. The saddest part is that this book had so much potential. I get that it's supposed to be a children's novel, but so was The Hobbit.

I'd say it needs more details but as a kids nook that wouldn't work. it just seemed to go really quickly :(

Interesting concept... wonder how things will pan out.^^^^Loved the book cover =)

"Dream your dearest desire, and I will dream it with you."
This book had a handmade feel to it, like it was written, bound, and illustrated by faeries from the woods. The story was refreshing and sweet. Definitely a children's story prose-wise (slightly more developed prose than say the Guardians series by William Joyce or the Guardians of Ga'Hoole by Kathryn Lasky), but well-worth reading for anyone who likes a good children's fairy tale. It also reminded me a little bit of the Land of Elyon books by Patrick Carman, which are also nostalgic stories. The middle lagged a tiny bit but the end made up for it. I feel like it was a good introduction to a series that will probably get better as it goes.
If you don't like "tree-hugger" books or talk of "earth-spirit" and using simple words, you might not like this one but I enjoyed it.
I'll be reading more of the series.
