I truly enjoyed this book, some parts dragged a bit due to my wanting to get back to other POVs but overall an easy and fun read! Especially toward the end it was very fun to see everything tie in and become connected, the author did very well making everything feel so seamless. Looking forward to tackling book two.

A quite satisfying read. Though I do think that the author might have a hard time following up with the sequel.

*spoiler* Reforming a corrupt government narratives are difficult to write in a satisfying way. There also remains the huge dilemma of being unable to stop taking people's bone shards without killing those the shards were used to create.

But I'm still very excited to see where this leads and think there is a lot of potential.

A few too many POV characters to start with (Sand's probably could have been compressed to one chapter at the end of the book), but came together in a really solid way at the end.
