A fine Spider-Man story, really pulling all of the story arcs together that have been happening over the last issues. The story in the first half of the book was pretty meh to me, but the catch up at the end was immensely helpful in laying out everything that's happened to Peter since being unmasked in Civil War. Definitely recommend that if you've been confused!

I suppose this is as well constructed of an "end" to an era, "The Brand New Day", as can be constructed in a series designed to go on perpetually. I appreciate how the supporting cast and their storylines feel like an integral part of the story, even the B stories in the final issue check in on a lot of those plot threads. Wish this was more standard for comics from the big 2. Onto "Big Time".

The trade felt a little disjointed. A few different art styles, plus some 6-page stories. Seriously, I think that you're setting yourself up for a tough challenge in making a good 6-page story. And yet, it seems like most of the time it's in the 6-pagers that so many of the writers go for either something with depth or a total joke. Not much in between, not a lot of subtlety. It's like the difference between a 1-hour stand-up set and a knock-knock joke.

The season finale of the Spidey Brain Trust era, and a very good one at that. Feels like what The Gauntlet and Grim Hunt should've been - a dense, wearying chase as Spider-Man is beset all sides by pretty much his entire rogues' gallery. Snappy writing and great art throughout. Just really enjoyable comic-book-ass comics!

This was really, really good. It really sets things up for a new era in Spidey/Peter's life. I'm really looking forward to what's coming next.

The bulk of this is okay, as far as recent Spider-Man comics are concerned, but some of the art makes me wonder if Marvel is hurting for pencillers these days. The story drawn by Max Fiumara is the greatest offender. Fiumara is an excellent artist, but the shit inking and digital coloring make this piece into a hideous, sodden mess.

I figured out why these stories need an end. They have to keep doing wacky things to keep the story going and it feels silly. A 3 part story arc and then your done - all you need. This was silly.
