So I went into this one completely blind and I have to be honest, I had a hard time getting into it. A huge event happened within the first few chapters but it was a very slow burn type of novel. With all that being said, the ending really turned it around for me!
If you’re craving a huge twist, this story isn’t for you but, the ending had a lot of emotion, and heart behind it and it really changed my opinion on the book! This story focuses on a bad ass mom who does everything to protect her kids and I was really shocked to find out it’s based on true events.

I enjoyed the premise of this book and finished it quickly but felt let down by the reveal + "twists." There were a couple but were revealed too early/had no impact really on the plot or ending. It's an easy read though.

I read this book in 1 day. While I thoroughly enjoyed it, there were multiple plot holes in the story which lowered my rating.

Pleasantly surprised! I liked the different points of view. Jade and Beatrix are amazing and I’d read another book of how they’re doing :)

Literally felt like I held on to my seatbelt while reading this one! The home invasion, that feeling of urgency and fear through jade’s perspective left me diving in hard. I was also a bit annoyed by how scared she was, compared to how bold her daughter was.
The secrets about her husband were revealed in bits and pieces, so I kind of knew what was coming in the end.
