Such a cute book! Hedgehog and Harry are great friends. Patience and acceptance are important parts of friendship and this book helps to demonstrate both.

{My thoughts} – Hedgehog gets a new bike. He wants to ride bikes with his friend Harry. Harry is afraid to ride Hedgehog’s bike. Harry still needs training wheels.
This is a really nice beginner reader. It helps to show children they can read books relevant to things in their life. Most children in Kindergarten and first grade are learning how to ride bikes. Some learn faster then others, but for the most part this is a completely relate-able book.
I really like how it is written in a graphic novel like format. The text and the illustrations go together nicely and help to hold the readers attention. I look forward to being able to share this book with my little one’s when they are start learning how to read.

Sort of Elephant and Piggy like banter, but in a graphic novel format, which is cool to know.

A great transitional reading book for kids who want to move past picture books but aren't quite ready for full-fledged chapter books or graphic novels.

We meet a cute hedgehog and their friend Harry (who is a guinea pig? A hamster? A gerbil?). Each chapter builds off of itself and ties everything together. A cute new series for beginning readers.
For: beginning readers looking for a cute animals.
Possible red flags: fear of trying new things/being made fun of.

Consists completely of dialogue, so readers who like Elephant and Piggie books may enjoy this series as well.

For fans of Elephant and Piggie or the classic Frog and Toad stories, here are two new friends for readers to meet. Hedgehog wants to show Harry his new bike, a bike which has everything. He even offers to let Harry ride it. Why does Harry turn him down? Could he really not like the bike with its basket, squishy handlebars, and even a bell?
Repetitive sentences make reading easier for beginners, and the illustrations support the text and add to the humor of the story. A new bike is a relatable topic for young readers and other books in the series center around a sleepover and a checkup.

Hedgehog adores his new bike. He wants to share it with his friend, Harry. Oddly, Harry does not want to ride it. What's going on?
A perfect early reader, with simple text and repetition that builds fluency, and conversations that allow readers to give text a natural sound. Children will want to read this book over and over and over, and that's great for early reading, too.
