I wish I had more to say about this. It's sweet, it's fun, it's charming. It's a clever idea. The settings were fantastic, really well described; the central idea is fun (has anyone tried this in real life? I'd love to know about it!)

I also really liked that the book is from a male point of view. That's really unusual in a romcom and I hope it's a sign of things to come. Men enjoy romance just as much as women do, after all.

Jessie, Jake and Jake's Jake may have been the highlights for me, although, weirdly, there's also the scene outside the church; it just hit exactly the right notes, not contrived, not too heavy, just perfect. I can see that being a family story for years to come.

Overall a good read. I definitely recommend it.

A very cute premise and a romance told from the male perspective made this a quick read. I found the characters a bit young, but I always find London a great setting for a rom-com so I enjoyed this rather light story. This a debut novel so I hope to see more from this author. We need more romance from the male perspective.

Thank you to Netgalley for gifting me this one!

Whilst I read this quickly, I found the pace a little slow, but it did have its charming and chuckle-enduring moments as Josh navigates his failed marriage proposal to living his life by the flip of a coin. An easy read that has a few tender moments in it, but I would have enjoyed it more if they’d packed that emotional punch. Bailey is an author I’ll be keeping an eye out for.

Omg what a book to start 2021 with!!

This book had everything for me: humour, romance, sadness and an existential crisis because let’s face it, who hasn’t had at least one?!

It felt refreshing to follow someone who is in their twenties and doesn’t have everything figured out which is okay. All the characters added something. Josh, Jessie, Jake, Pap, Nan, Mum and Dad all had something either I could relate to or reminded me of someone I knew. (Jade can just straight up get in the bin)

I couldn’t recommend this book more and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys fiction and reading generally, not once specific genre lover.

MY RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A little boring. The story seemed to take a while to take off. The romance was cute, but also random twists and turns that made no sense.

“Perfectly Imperfect.” A light, entertaining read with some comical moments.

Favourite quote ~ In the self-help section of an American bookstore, I hug a Dutch girl dressed as Sherlock Holmes whom I met outside a brothel.”

The main character was just so self indulgent that I had a hard time relating to him, but I enjoyed the quirks of the supporting characters and I liked the ending a lot. I waffled between 3 and 4. Might adjust after I think about it.
