This was quirky and fun and a good read. But it was a little too long in my opinion as I felt like it could've been wrapped up much quicker. That being said, I did enjoy it and think it was very well written.

I got about a third of the way through this book when I decided that I just didn't care about the characters, or what was happening to them. Josh is annoying and I just didn't like him. Hard to read a book when you don't like the main character, who is also the person the First-person POV is through.

It started out as a 3 star read; not the best thing ever, but lighthearted, fun, and compelling enough that I wanted to keep reading. Then after the first third (ish) of the book it all went down hill.
Stilted, boring dialogue. Flat characters. Both the dialogue between characters and Josh's inner monologue were peppered with on-the-nose observations that felt obvious and forced. SHOW. DON'T TELL. FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THE GOD ROMCOMS OUT THERE.
I did not care what happened to these characters. Also, this book is shelved under romance at my work place but there is barely any interaction between the MC and the LI. Genuinely, I will be re-shelving it when I'm next at work.
I feel like an absolute grinch. I'm so sorry. Please don't revoke my romcom-lover membership.
