I listened to this as an ebook and was unimpressed. However, format can affect the experience so I’ll give the next one a chance before jumping to conclusions

I have had some recent disappointments with Eloisa James, so I'm thrilled to say I enjoyed this one. It was straightforward - nothing that happened was a surprise - with relatively low angst and great banter.

It's refreshing to get an HR without a TSTL heroine (I've had a run of bad luck, lately, with lots of heroines that I want to strangle... so this was a great relief). I'm interested to see what happens with North and Diana in the next book... and a little worried because Diana seemed like a brat in this book. But we'll see.

Not sure if this is a series I care to continue. Intrigued by the family aspect but the romance itself was just boring.

The book without a plot. I got to page 79, and still had no idea what this story was supposed to be about. Oh, there's a set-up: a celebrity travel author/aristocrat, and a supposedly smart young lady, who chat a lot with each other and with other guests at the aristocrat's family estate during a house party. I guess they're supposed to be falling in love. But they don't DO anything but talk. And neither does anybody else. And all this chatter is only occasionally witty. Where's the conflict? What's the problem? What do they want? What do they need? Why should a reader care?

Why should I keep reading? Oh, I shouldn't. Just put the book down and walk away...
