Cute fairy-tale retelling, it just didn't fully click with me. I would recommend this to people who like T. Kinfisher's fairy tale retellings (which I have also given 3 stars for the same reason) because this had a similar style and sense of humor.

Below are some of my notes as I was listening to the book, this was my first audiobook so this is something I had to get used to, it's the same thing when I read an e-book. I'm a big fan of Roshani but for some reason, this didn't hit the mark for me, but I will always support her.

- sounds like Roshani's style, I love her humour
- this story might have done better on paper
- might be because this is my first audio book
- an interesting concept that could've gone somewhere a couple who had gone through rough patches and are given a second chance to rekindle their relationship
- kind of boring listening
- I only didn't start paying attention until the second chapter
- the voice acting isn't that bad
- kind of formulaic reminds me of a 2000s chick flick
- characters are kind of interesting one doesn't want to be under control or commanded she had enchanted shoes along with her 11 other sisters one is too proud and stoic
- I have to say it's kind of funny when Imelda kissed the badger

Adorable and utterly charming. Once More Upon a Time is a must read (or listen, which I highly recommend the audiobook) for any lover of Disney, fairytales, or stories like that of The Tenth Kingdom. A delightful novella full of humor and lessons in the true nature of love and friendship.

Well this was absolutely delightful. I felt like a child reading a humorous fairytale-gone-wrong. Short and sweet! Give it a try if you enjoy fairytale retelling and witty couples.

The latter half reminded me of the movie Ella Enchanted where Ella and Char go through their adventure having many brief encounters with interesting people and almost dying again and again.

And in the end, it all works out like it should.

It’s a good story, but I struggled to get in to it
