I really wanted to like love this book, but it just wasn’t it for me. It was a cute story, but I just did not enjoy the couple together and the fact her sisters husband is a piece of crap.

I hated all of the characters with the exception of Olive. Her sister was a bitch. Her sister's cheater husband was an asshole, which is an understatement for what he did. And Ethan can go to hell. I find it unbelievable that you don't trust or at least listen to your sister who was there for you your entire life, telling you that this guy flirted with her. It's insane. The fact that they all didn't believe her, and then they came crawling back is deranged. I'm sure this book had potential in one way or another, but the ending ruined it. However, this is no hate towards the author, my hate is mostly aimed at the characters. Nice book cover.

Now why couldn’t we get an epilogue like this in Love and Other Words?

This book was a solid 4-5 stars up until the inevitable ~separation that happens in every romcom.

Spoiler Ethan straight-up gaslights her and plays on her insecurities when Olive tells him that his brother hit on her. Ethan would rather be in denial and shift the blame onto women than confront the hard truth that his brother is a serial philanderer with piss-poor character.
That's an indication of poor character on Ethan's part. If I were Olive, I'd watch for that character flaw manifesting in other situations.
