This book deserves five stars for sharing the experiences of trans women. As a cis woman, I found it insightful. However, the author often went off on tangents, which I would skim through, and the plot was lacking.

I... Really wanted to like this book. I can't decide if the author was trying to be tongue and cheek and went a little too far, or if she genuinely has some messed up views on what womanhood is.

3.5 stars rounded up because it brings up a lot of important conversations. I've yet to read another book try to tackle this realm of issues, it is genuinely very queer, and I think the author meant to portray it sincerely... Even if the end result was fell short of expectations.

I wish I liked this more, but Reese took way too long to see any character development? She never learned from her mistakes? I was getting a bit irate with her towards the end. Maybe it felt prolonged to me because the narration style also wasn’t doing it for me; it felt quite robotic.
