The guy is dumb and a dick really but the grovel is real good.

Overall, the plot is entirely predictable and the writing is a bit repetitive but the story is somewhat addictive and I binged it in one day.

DID NOT FINISH

it started out promising. i swear, i even got excited and thought i was gonna love this book. and then it went and annoyed the fuck out of me. i was repeatedly miffed at sandro, i worried the scowl i was sporting while reading would become permanent. [shivers involuntarily] so i had to what's best for me and stopped. i can't even finish it if i tried.

Call me a sap, but this romance takes me back to when I was a dewy-eyed teenager and reminds me of what made me love romance novels in the first place - it has all the elements you want out of this type of read. Love, loss, misunderstanding, heartbreak, suspense, reconciliation, understanding. I don't know who the stone-hearted cynics are who gave this book 1 or 2 stars, blathering on about minor anomalies in punctuation and grammar, but they seriously need hugs! This was heartwarming and sweet, frustrating and maddening in the best way. I loved it. And Theresa's prolonged hesitation to trust her husband again? Totally believable! My heart hurt for her in the beginning, I mean, it ached! And 'Sandro's pain at not being able to convince her of his love? Made me ache for him too! Read this if you're a hopeless romantic - you will not be disappointed. Having read this genre since I was a kid, I thought I detected a shift in tone toward the end, and it became more . . . modern. I suspect that this was written in the nineties, or at least a decade ago and the end re-written. But it was so skillfully done, you might almost miss it.
