I'm on the fence about this book. I got really easily confused with the whole backwards time thing. It seemed like the author got confused as well because it seemed really inconsistant as well. The reverse time travel didn't even really make sense, not with the whole mushroom cloud disapperance. The ending was such a disappointment as well, the Professor ends up with Isley in the end c'mon. The Doctor told him that he would die at her hands, what's the matter with that happening later on especially now that half of her skeleton is showing. I dunno, there was too much time spent on the background of the story rather than the companions or the Doctor which is what you usually find. The Doctor seemed more of a mix of earlier ten and nine rather than Eleven's bouncy self. Rory didn't match his personality and Amy fell really flat. I was really disappointed with this book, but it was a decent effort and not the worst Whoverse novelization I've read.

A pile of gubbins. It takes care and skill to do the timey wimey wibbley wobs well, and they are not done so here. There aren't even any good character moments.

Not the best Doctor Who book I've read. It's really fast to read but I thought the plot was not the best one, especially considering the other plot

Nuclear Time was an enjoyable Doctor Who adventure, in a very different format than usual. Alas, my brain has weird issues with anything resembling a battle scene in writing. I just can't follow what's happening because I can't picture it at all. This isn't the fault of the writer: it's just how my brain works. I prefer my Doctor Who on television. I will probably try other DW books, though.

This one had potential, but unfortunately the writing was terrible. The author did not have a very good grasp on Amy's and Rory's characters and how they interact with each other. The Doctor was better, but some of the things he said were very un-Doctory. Also, it takes place in the United States, with Americans, who would be speaking American English. They would not have called dollar bills "notes" and the only time an American says "Cheers" is when they're toasting. The story itself was an interesting concept, and definitely a situation I could see these three getting into. However, the writing made it difficult to follow at times and just really missed the mark.

Confusing timeline and slow to start. The Doctor, Amy, and Rory all seemed a bit off. A mostly entertaining read, at least.

Some interesting concepts, particularly the moving of the Doctor both backwards and forwards in the same timeline, and the intersection of the Whoniverse with the US politics of the Cold War era, but Smith's style is irritatingly unpolished in places.
