Started the audio on a road trip with my husband because he has been asking me to read it for years. I wanted to like it for him, but I was so bored, extremely confused, and completely disoriented by the time I threw in the towel. I have a feeling this book is better consumed in physical or digital form. I may one day crack open the physical copy we own, but I honestly doubt it.

wow a mammoth. Think this is the longest book Ive read. This was really great tho, what a joy to spend 6 weeks with the same characters and world.
I really loved this especially the second half. It was a little bit tough going in the first half as I felt the start of every chapter took the energy out of the book. am I even ready for the sequel

This is Hamilton at his best, he builds an amazing world and sets the stage for an incredible story. I did feel that this book is mostly set up and it was slow in a few places but it doesn’t take away from the incredible story and characters he’s created.

It's not bad, but be warned ahead of time that this only half of the story. The second half is Judas Unchained, which I haven't read yet.
There's nothing too deep or interesting about this book, but it's fairly entertaining space opera. It could probably make a good movie if edited down quite a bit.
