A truly wonderfully written book. Perhaps too well. In one of her previous books, The Hypnotist's Love Story, I was so filled with rage at the character of Saskia I had to stop reading. It's her great strength that she can write about truly awful people so sympathetically.

I almost DNFd this one too despite the riveting mystery and high quality writing. Because Savannah AND Joy AND Stan are all c**ts and by the end I didn't wish a single good thing for them.

It's possible it's my own issues driving this reaction, so I still give it 4 stars and an enthusiastic recommendation.

Hoewel alle personages in het verhaal wel goed worden uitgediept, vond ik toch dat vooral de eerste helft van het boek wat traag verliep... de tweede helft boeide wat meer.
Al met al had ik iets meer spanning verwacht. 3½ ster
