There were times where the mystery took a backseat to the other storylines, but this was an enjoyable read.

A fun start to a new cozy series. The premise is one I enjoyed with Amelia being the author of a newspaper column that answers ladies questions. The mystery was good and the reveal of the villain and their motivation for the crime made for a satisfying conclusion. I especially like Simon and how his relationship with Amelia is growing. I hope we see more of that in future books. I will be keeping up with this series for sure.

Set in 1860 London, twenty-five year old Amelia Amesbury is a widow, and Countess. She is also an advice columnist under the name: Lady Agony.
When one of her letter writers is murdered, Amelia feels that she should investigate.
There is a subtle romance in the story that doesn’t distract from the mystery.
