This book was actually really exciting! I do feel a great sense of satisfaction is having guessed some of the plot twists, especially in regards to Evie and her

.

It was definitely super creepy to begin to find out what is actually happening with Evie, and to be honest, I don’t really have a damn clue how they’re going to be able to get a happy ever after after finding out what we did in this book. I hope that Evie manages to figure out a way to control herself, but I’m kind of worried that a lot of bad shit will have to go down before that happens.

It was really sweet to see Daemon, Kat, Dee, Dawson, Beth and Archer again. I actually will say though – and this is probably a reaaally unpopular opinion – that I’m finding myself a lot more attached to Evie and Luc. But I was really great to see where they are all at in life and seeing them all somewhat involved in the plot of this series. Overall though, I am kind of sick of seeing couples barely into their twenties ending up having kids (I’m looking at YOU Kat!). I know they are the OTP pair of the series and everyone loves them, but why do soo many OTP couples have to end up getting married and having kids young?

Luc and Evie were adorable together again, just like in the first book. It was nice to see their relationship progress, although I do still feel like it is still a bit over-the-top at times. Although Luc has known Evie/Nadia for much longer, their relationship as Evie/Luc has only just recently begun to develop and they are already making huge love declarations to each other which sometimes make me roll my eyes just a tiny bit. But speaking of their relationship, it was so nice to see some representation of couples getting into some sexy time without instantly jumping into full-on sex, which is often done in media. Also, I really appreciate that Evie isn’t a virgin in this series. It’s really refreshing to not have the main female protagonist of a YA novel lose her virginity in a book considering how overdone that is, so kudos!

what in the fucking world? i loved this even more than the first?! the first one was amazing, loved it, but this!!! HOLY!!! i don’t approve w that cliffhanger. i cant wait 253 days. nope.

So many problems, too little time. For well over half the book, I wanted to punch Evie in the face.
dark emotional mysterious sad tense fast-paced

Book 2 in a trilogy. Correction, this is not a trilogy, not sure how many books.
I'm a bit mixed about this book.
The idea is good, it's a continuation of the Lux series, an earlier story by the author but with different characters.
I found it very long-winded.
The heroine is confused as to who she is, how she feels about the Hero, Luc, the issue with this is it felt to me like endless internal monologue about her self analysis and feelings.
Although this was necessary in part there did seem to be so much of it.

It feels like YA but there are some intimate scenes, not sex but differing on your view of what age you class YA is there may be need for caution.

The enemy threat that runs through the series is good, we find out more in this book and more questions are also raised.
One word of caution, don't get too attached to anyone as the death count is high.

Ends on a cliffhanger.

No intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine.
No sex but some intimacy.
Virgin Hero.
Heroine was a bit vague but I think she gave the impression she'd gone further with her ex than she had, but I was a bit confused about how far.
But no details at all.

Just when I thought all the twists and turns had been revealed I got hit with the cliffhanger at the end! Jennifer Armentrout is by far by favorite author and this book was no exception. I never want Luc and Evie’s story to end.

I feel like this is my favorite JLA book to date. This book kept me on the edge of my seat and the connection between Evie and Luc is palpable. Luc has come so far from the Lux series, when he was just a young sarcastic boy that knew everything. Now he is pretty much the same, but his layers are so deep and he carries so much on his shoulders you just feel like your heart might explode for him. He is so young and yet the people that look to him for guidance and support are innumerable. The one thing he will never waiver on is his love and loyalty to Evie. She is beginning to remember things from her past and honestly, this book took so many turns I wasn’t expecting that I just can’t figure out what is happening. The people that we lost in this book kind of devastated me, so I’m hoping that tapers off, but somehow I don’t think that will be the case. This series is quickly becoming my favorite and I hope it stays that way! Luc is such a complex character and I love him.

Rough start. But in the end, I still want more.
