fun read! made me go back and appreciate the movie a bit more

the book handles the worldbuilding + exposition a lot better but … man... mickey7 + 8 have like NO personality in comparison to the movie's mickey17 + 18. thought the creepers were better incorporated in the movie but i do like how the book ties the creepers into mickey's status as expendable. the prose bordered on bland sometimes, but ive been on reading slumps and i was able to power through this in two sittings. so i can appreciate a book that keeps me engaged enough to do that hehe

is the movie better? honestly yeah it has a lot more life and personality LMFAO but this is still a good read! if anything it's a good post-movie companion ^_^

This a fun read. Really loved the Mickey 7/Mickey 8 interplay.

Smart, very entertaining, peppy, and truly thoughtful. I loved its tone: always light, but with quiet notes of despair and fear. of a life wasted. Or, in this book’s case, many of the same life. It’s quite well structured and doesn’t redress popular tropes, which I appreciated.

Bong Joon-ho is adapting it, starring our greatest a-list weirdo, Robert Pattinson. There’s a second book that I’m putting off for a bit; I wonder if the film means to kick off a media squid with multiple films etc. I hope not.

I really really hate when there's nothing telling me that something is a flashback vs current events.
